![]() WATERCOLORS ![]() Midge Pippel was born and raised in Michigan. Upon graduation from high school she began painting in oils following the tradition of her mother and grandmother. She graduated with her Masters and Specialist's degrees from Michigan State University in the field of educational administration. Midge put time for painting on hold while she and her husband reared their two children and she advanced in her career from teacher to principal and later, school superintendent. Now that Midge has retired she is delighted to have the time to return to her life long love of painting. Her art medium of choice has become watercolors because they help her capture the natural beauty of Anna Maria Island, Florida and Michigan. Florals, beaches, boats, birds and rustic cottages are her favorite painting subjects. Midge's style has been described as cheerful, bright and colorful. She uses her digital camera to capture her subject and then uses the photographs as a resource for painting in her art studio. Midge is a member of Artists' Guild of Anna Maria Island, Manatee Art Center, Anna Maria Art League and Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society. She has exhibited in many juried shows and had several one woman art shows, in addition, to having two of her paintings used for magazine covers. Her art work may be seen at several Florida and Michigan galleries. |
