Midge's painting style is described as cheerful, bright and colorful. She strives to capture the the beauty and joy of the lush tropical island, Anna Maria Island, where she lives. Anna Maria Island, is a barrier island off the west coast of Florida just north of Sarasota. The natural beauty of the island provides endless inspiration for Midge's coastal inspired paintings. Tropical florals, beaches, boats, animals and landscapes are her favorite subjects.
Midge's goal is to get the viewer to enjoy her unique use of color, painting style and sometimes funky designs. She began painting in oils and later grew to love the look of loose and free flowing watercolors, versatile acrylics and textured collages.
Her work has been in many one woman shows in Michigan and Florida; exhibited widely in numerous juried shows; received honors and awards, and had her paintings on multiple magazine covers. Her coastal themed work is widely collected and can be found in businesses and homes from coast to coast.
